I ask direct questions about how you've been running things. Not to judge, but because that's where the breakthroughs are. If you want someone who will validate every decision and avoid uncomfortable conversations, this won't work.
You want to keep doing what you've been doing.
This work takes the business somewhere new. If you already know what needs to happen but aren't willing to do it differently, even the best integrator in the world can't help. You have to be ready to let go of some control and back the process.

The work I do assumes you've already built something that works. If you're still figuring out what to sell or who to sell it to, it's too early for integration. You need a different kind of help first.
